Ikea up to date its Home smart cellular app this week with a brand new dynamic lighting function that can automatically adjust the shade temperature and brightness of its smart lights throughout the day. It’s just like the pure mild scene that Philips Hue launched in late 2022, and is designed to supply hotter illumination in the mornings and evenings, with cooler hues in the day time.
Given the function is particularly tied to Ikea’s Home smart app, it’s solely appropriate with lighting merchandise that hook up with Ikea’s Matter-ready Dirigera smart residence hub that launched in the latter half of 2022. That contains merchandise like its Sonos-compatible Symfonisk speaker lamp. However, it’s not recognized if the function will work with third-party smart lights by means of Matter, and The Verge has reached out to Ikea to substantiate if it’s appropriate with the Adaptive Lighting function in Apple’s Home app.
