JCB – the British heavy gear producer – is again on the smartphone scene with two new rugged Android telephones. The JCB Toughphone and Toughphone Max are each MIL-SPEC 810G compliant and function an IP68 ranking for mud and water resistance at as much as 1.5m of water for half-hour. The new units function a hardened polycarbonate body and again with metallic components.
JCB Toughphone
JCB Toughphone contains a 5.7-inch IPS LCD with HD+ decision and a waterdrop notch housing its 20MP entrance going through digicam. Toughphone Max brings a bigger 6.67-inch IPS LCD with FHD+ decision and a 20MP selfie cam housed inside a punch gap cutout. Both units function Gorilla Glass protected screens with a rubber rim for added drop safety and pre-applied glass display screen protectors.

Toughphone brings a single 20MP rear digicam and an LED flash whereas Toughphone Max is outfitted with a 48MP foremost cam, a 16MP ultrawide module, a 2MP macro cam and a VGA module.
Both Toughphones are powered by MediaTek chipsets – Helio P22 on the Teoughphone alongside 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, and Dimensity 700 on the Toughphone Max (8/256GB). JCB Toughphone contains a 4,050 mAh battery whereas its Max sibling ups the ante to a 12,200 mAh cell which is rated at as much as 30 days standby. Toughphone boots Android 13 whereas Toughphone Max is delivery with Android 12.

JCB Toughphone is accessible to order for £300 whereas Toughphone Max is priced at £600. Deliveries begin from mid-July.
