Tiny, hole wires can produce doughnut-shaped laser light that might be used to levitate small objects or transmit data.
Conventional lasers usually make beams that seem as a single, small level of light once they hit a floor. But for some novel communication applied sciences that use light to switch data, it may be higher to make use of lasers that produce hole beams like a consuming straw, which seem as a ring of light once they hit a floor.
