    Short, highly effective bursts of radio waves from space are getting stranger and stranger. Astronomers have noticed 35 of those bursts from a single object with a sample not like any we’ve seen earlier than.

    Sofia Sheikh on the SETI Institute in California and her colleagues noticed this object, a quick radio burst (FRB) known as FRB 20220912A, over the course of 541 hours of commentary with the Allen Telescope Array in California. In every of the bursts from this FRB, they discovered a phenomenon known as the “sad trombone”…
