We’ll let different publications give you a day by day horoscope. At Ars Technica, we’ll take a unique route, discovering inspiration from very actual photos of a universe that’s crammed with stars and marvel.

Good morning. It’s November 22, and as we speak’s photograph showcases our very personal Milky Way Galaxy above the crimson rocks of Utah.

If you have ever hiked in Utah, likelihood is you have heard of the Mount Nebo Loop south of Provo. One of the perfect options alongside this hike is Devil’s Kitchen, which options pillars and different attention-grabbing rock formations. Taylor Thomas snapped this {photograph} this summer season whereas visiting the favored out of doors space.

“Along this loop is a set of crimson rock hoodoos that come out of seemingly nowhere amidst the pine timber,” Thomas advised me. “This photograph is technically a panoramic stitched collectively from three photos, all single exposures taken at nearly the identical time with the slightest quantity of sunshine portray to light up the rocks. No different stacking or a number of exposures and I took as minimal contact as attainable with modifying.”

Thomas deftly captured the fantastic thing about the Earthly rocks contrasted with the Milky Way—as I’m certain you will agree.
