    Saturn formally has essentially the most moons of any planet within the photo voltaic system, usurping Jupiter. The International Astronomical Union (IAU) has introduced the addition of 28 pure satellites for the ringed planet, bringing its whole to 117 versus Jupiter’s 95.

    As the photo voltaic system’s most large planets, Saturn and Jupiter have sufficient gravitational pull to pluck area rocks from their orbit across the solar. These captured satellites, termed irregular moons, typically have unusual, extensively looping orbits and astronomers are …
